Dropbox sync folder shows "No synced documents were found" on secondary
I'm trying to set up Moneydance (v 2024.2 (5172)) syncing between two Macs (Mac OS 15.1) using Dropbox Folders (Dropbox v212.3.5673).
After installing Moneydance fresh on the secondary computer, selecting "Create a new account set" > Open Synced File > Dropbox Folder > Next, I get "No synced documents were found".
So, I reset the sync ID (using Toolbox) on the primary computer, restarted MD, enabled sync and waited for it to complete.
Went back to MD on the secondary computer, and still get "No synced documents were found".
Any idea what is wrong?
For background: I had Dropbox Sync working before, but I had to change the account download method from OFX to Plaid for some of my online accounts, and the download method config didn't seem to sync across to the secondary, so I thought to create a new secondary. That's how I got to where I am now.

Are you logged into Dropbox on the same account?
Outside of MD can you save a file to the local Dropbox folder and see it appear on the other computer’s DB folder?

Yes to all questions. I can also see the new sync ID folder in the ~/Dropbox/.moneydancesync folder on both computers.

I do notice some differences between my two computers.
On the secondary Mac, Dropbox is v 212.3.5673.
On the primary Mac, Dropbox is v 211.4.5008.
On the secondary Mac, Dropbox folder is located at ~/Dropbox.
On the primary Mac, Dropbox folder is located at ~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox.
(I think I created a symlink from ~/Dropbox to the physical location to make MD happy, some time ago.)
Both Macs are running Sequoia 15.1, but the primary is an M2 mac, while the secondary is an Intel mac.
The Dropbox syncing IS working, though.

Also, just for testing, on the secondary, I tried creating an empty account set, enabled syncing via Dropbox Folder, then disabled it and restarted MD.
Upon restart on the secondary, I was able to see the sync ID I just created locally (in the .moneydancesync folder.)

I suspect the CloudStorage folder thing was a leftover from the Dropbox Beta program, which I left a short time ago.

So are you saying it’s working now?

Nope still not working. Just sharing as much context as I can.

Run toolbox extension on both machines. Does it pop up any warnings when it opens?

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the quick reply and apologies for the delay; I was away from the secondary computer until today.
I think I figured out the problem: the Dropbox .moneydancesync folder was marked as "online-only", so even though the files appeared to be there, they were all of zero size to MD.
I right-clicked on the .moneydancesync folder and selected "Make available offline" and it eventually downloaded all the files to my secondary Mac (that took awhile since there were thousands of files).
Restarted MD and this time it found the sync copy!
