[BUG] New style budget colors too dark when using dark themes - MD2024
The green is very dark as is the red making it hard to see in dark mode. It would be better if those two were a brighter version of the colors were used in that appearance theme. I have to switch to a light color to read this report; no issues with other screens. This is the only problem I've ever really had. Good work!

Hi Liz,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Please can you confirm which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
To check, open Moneydance and select Moneydance --> About Moneydance
What's your operating system?
Does this visual problem occur with all dark modes with both budget types?

Version 2024.2 (5172)
I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.1
What do you mean both budget types? I am using Budget Period: Annual and it
was newly created today.
I don't look at the Budget screen every month, and I only switched to dark
mode recently, so I don't know when this appeared. I just noticed it today.

There are two types of budget available within Moneydance, and you can read about them both in this section of the knowledge base.
Which budget format are you using?

I am not using the old style. I thought I said that, but I guess not.

Thanks for letting us know about this issue!
I've filed a ticket in our ticketing system, so the developers will be looking into it.
In the meantime, you could customize your budget appearance from File->Preferences->Appearance->Custom->Customize->Budget.
You should click 'OK' and restart Moneydance to retain the changes.
For more details, please refer to this article of the Knowledge Base.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Not available on mac, not at that location or with all the options.
Customize button doesn't do anything (unclickable)

Customize is enabled when you choose any 'Theme' other than "Flat Dark"

You may want to change 'Theme' to 'Custom', click 'OK' and restart Moneydance to retain the changes.
Then navigate to 'customize' and change your budget color to something more suitable.
Also, if your system (not Moneydance) is running in 'dark mode', you may want to use "light mode", instead.
If this doesn't work either, please let me know and I will refer your query to the development team for further advice.

HI Maddy
As I previously mentioned, I'm using that version.
