Incorrect share total
I have an investment account that is showing an incorrect share total the Portfolio view and in the securities detail.
I went through and entered all of the transactions for the security (42 in total) in a spreadsheet. I verified each transaction against the statement and they are all correct and the share total in the spreadsheet matches my account statement, but the share total shown in Moneydance is still incorrect.

What version of MD?
Are talking about 0.00001 different or whole quantities - e.g. 203 diff?
Does that security have any stock splits recorded?
What is listed on the investment account, 4th register, security details, select the security, for the txns?
You can use extension extract data, option extract investment txns to extract to csv, open in excel and view/compare the shares?
Lastly launch toolbox extension. Security menu. Option to diagnose hierarchical accounts. Any warnings?

I found the issue. I somehow managed to enter a negative share amount in a transaction.
I suggest you guy add some kind of check for negative share amounts in transactions where it would not make sense.
Thanks!

At least MD can add up!!
What was the transaction type with the negative share quantity?

I believe it was a Sell. And now that I'm thinking about it it was not the share quantity that was negative, it was the price. I suppose that would cause some goofiness.
