Is there a way to wipe MD clean of all data and start over? UGH
I have had major problems with MD for the past three months. Recently it has be duplicating entries -or- deleting several months of data in accounts -or- when I open MD, it looks far different from when I closed it last. I pay my bills through one bank checking account. So, all my credit cards in MD are linked to that account. Recently, when an entry is linked to a particular account, it doesn't show up in the linked account. It ghosts it! The total balance of any one of the accounts is out-of-this-world! I don't owe $26,742 on my Chase CC. Yet, that is the total balance shown to be due. And of course, the next time I open it, the balance may show $428, which is incorrect as well.
Since 2016 I have used this application daily or several times a day. I try to correct the accounts by printing out my CC and bank statements. Can't tell you how labor intense THAT is! Just for the MD gods to screw it up the next time I open it.
Please tell me there is a way to scrap the whole app and install a fresh, new blank slate before I lose my religion!
Thanks for your ear!

Toolbox extension. Update mode. Advanced menu. Clone dataset. This creates and opens a new cloned dataset with no data.
You may need the latest toolbox from here.

You do not need to install Moneydance again, that achieves nothing, there is no data or option settings stored in the program.
To start a fresh empty account set you can also just use the Moneydance menu option File => New
You can switch between account sets using the Menu option File => Open.
Whether to use this or Toolbox's clone command depends on your objectives.

Just to elaborate, you use the File New command if you want an out of the box empty account set, you can use the clone Toolbox option if you want an empty data set but with your basic account and categories set up.

In addition to the above instructions, a bit more context: Think of Moneydance like your word processing program. You have one program, but can have many files. There's no need to reinstall the program, and you wouldn't expect doing so to affect any of your files. Instead, just create a new file using the above suggestions that seem most appropriate to your situation.
