Issue involving Moneydance Data File transfer Between Windows and MacBook

I have encountered an odd situation in transferring my 57 MB Moneydance data file from my Windows 11 desktop computer to my MacBook Air M4. The transfer over my fast Wi-Fi network is extremely slow, taking over 5 minutes whereas a 600 MB folder of photo files takes less than 30 seconds to transfer.

Here's the odd part: The data file size measures 57 MB on the Windows computer in its normal location within the Moneydance documents folder, but it measured as 645 MB in the MacBook Drop Box as seen over the Windows network, and the excessively slow transfer speed also implies a huge size increase. However, once it arrives at the MacBook the data file is reported as 57 MB sitting in the Drop Box and in the Moneydance documents folder after it is transferred. How can this huge disparity be explained?

This would be an inconsequential oddity if it were not for the extremely slow transfer speed of copying to the Mac. I now copy the file using a USB key which is fast but less convenient. I wonder if anyone has an explanation for the extreme transfer slowness and the strange file size discrepancy in the Moneydance data file. It seems to be specific to the Moneydance data file, as other transfers between the Windows computer and the MacBook Air are speedy.
