Moneydance 2024.4 Build 5253 - Mac OS 13.7.5 Bug Report
This problem has been present for a while. When confirming transactions, selecting a transaction always opens the popup window (i.e. a new transactions register window). This only works with "settings" ... "show selection details" is set to "In main window." When "in separate popup" is selected, noting happens.
So... the "show selection details" function produces the reverse of the function selected in one case, or nothing at all in the other.
In my workflow, the "in main window" selection is much quicker when it operates correctly, as it used to.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
When the option "Show Selection Details" is selected, this will amend the placements of the transaction panels you see in Moneydance (on the right of your account register when selecting an unconfirmed transaction, or a transaction that includes an attachment).
By default, this is set as 'In Main Window'.
It can be changed to 'In separate popup'. This opens the panel in a new window separate from the account register, as outlined here.
Is this not what you are seeing?
If not, in order to reveal a "hidden window", you could navigate to the app in the dock and choose "See all windows", and then it will pop up.

Hi Maddy…
I think I figured it out… When I’m checking transaction receipts that I have collected, I use the search function on the “Summary” screen, enter the transaction amount, and the select a matching transaction from the list the Moneydance generates. Then Moneydance brings up a new screen, which is a transaction ledger from the selected account that shows the selected transaction.
For some reason I have been expecting to go straight to the “confirm” dialogue for the transaction I’ve selected on the “Summary” screen, rather than to the transaction ledger screen. The intermediate step adds several “clicks” to the process. I don’t know if earlier versions of Moneydance presented the “confirm” dialogue immediately or if my recollection is just confused.
So… thanks. I suspect the app is functioning the way you designed it. If not, you will certainly know.
