Bank perpetually downloads duplicate check

MD 2024.4 (5253), MacOS 15.7.2

I have a bill-payment transaction which re-downloads perpetually and refuses to merge, or if it does merge, then it downloads from the bank again. The bank’s website (correctly) shows only one charge for $42. I merged that charge, but the bank continues to download it again every day. The new charge will not offer to merge.

So I unmerged the original transaction, but now it shows two downloaded charges, both with the same check number. How can I resolve this problem?

   BTW, Preferences/Network/Observe Online Payment Date Restrictions is checked and set to 14 days. I have observed in the past that already-merged transactions were offered as merge options again—but not this time!

   After five days of downloading multiple times, the error resolved itself.
