New PC laptop - syncing passphrase problems

Hi, I wonder if you can help. I use the 2020 version of Moneydance, and have a shared file on Dropbox, with a PC laptop and iPhone synced to it.

I have just bought a new laptop and want to use this instead of the current laptop (I will still be using the iPhone). I have installed Moneydance 2020 on the new PC and got dropbox to authorise the connection. I have then selected the right Moneydance file and am asked to "Enter the encryption password used to sync this document".

If I go into Encryption Passphrase in syncing on the old laptop it says "Below is the password used to encrypt your data when syncing over dropbox Moneydance". Likewise on the iPhone if I go into settings, sync, Encryption Password, it says "Moneydance".

However if I enter Moneydance on the new laptop in the box, it won't accept it and "Finish" stays greyed out. Can you help with this please? It also doesn't allow entering no password.

Kind regards
John

On the old devices run toolbox extension. there is an option to look at sync passwords. What does that say?

Hi, thank you for the reply.

In the end I managed to make this work by backing up a copy on the old PC and restoring that to the new PC; then turning sync off on the iPhone and deleting the material in Dropbox; then setting up sync for the restored file on the new pc and on the iPhone again.

    Thanks
