on one credit card account when I enter a transaction unless I fill in the check # status like Trn it will not show up, I can search for it and it shows up however on the Showing:All Transaction is my filter. On my other accounts I see all my transactions, not sure what is going on.

If you can search for it and it shows up it means it is there.

The only things I can think of is you have entered an erroneous date so the transaction is not where you think it is, or the sort order of the register is taking the transaction out of view in which case sorting by date should rectify.

This field is largely a free text field, with the major exception being the Print instructions.

So I did a test entered 02/11/2026 using money dance calendar, typed in Testing, pick a Category of Misc, entered $1 and left the Check # column blank, as soon as I click enter it will vanish, however if I search “Test” it will show up, and if I enter Trn in Check # it will show up. This seems to only happen in this one account, none of my other credit card accounts are acting like this. Yes I can enter Trn, however most of the time I haven’t nor am I entering any kind of check number for a credit card.

I have checked my updates, I am Mac Book Pro, Version 2024.4(5253) - it’s telling me no updates are available and when they are I always update or purchase whatever is new. I’ve used Money Dance since 2011.

So I’m at a loss here other then closed this account out and start a new one for the same credit card.

    Hi Wally,

When viewing the account register, you could simply click in the 'Date' column header. Click again to toggle between ascending and descending order. Alternatively, you should 'right click' (or press Ctrl and click) on any transaction to view the context menu then choose Choose Sort By > Date Entered. Close and restart Moneydance to retain the change.

Finally, you can refer to this article of the Knowledge Base.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
