RAM usage is blowing up.
Hi there,
I have a Macbook Air, M1 2020, with Tahoe 26.3 as the OS. This problem predates this OS. Coupled with Chrome, they both can drive my laptop to states so sluggish it might as well be a brick. Chrome is its own story wth all its high-demand tabs, but when this happens, it's MoneyDance that has the greatest demand on my RAM and it's not even active when it does this. Today, 2.75 GB. I quit the app so at least I could unfreeze Chrome and make it follow my commands. Can you please help me clean up MoneyDance because it should not be doing this! Another thing It's been doing for years, which I just deal with, is if a window has been open for an indeterminate time, it will stop taking commands and I have to open a new window and close the old one in order to enter a transaction. I leave the app open Monday to Friday. I auto-update my prices once a day and upon command. I don't get any error messages when I open ToolBox. MoneyDance version 2024.4 (5253)

Grab and upload help/show console.
Run toolbox analyse dataset and objects. Upload that output too.

OK, there is nothing unusual here. whilst MD is 'allocating' 2GB ram, it's only using about 850MB at the moment. This is 'normal'. How much total memory does your computer have?
Even your dataset is not large. But you can free up 30MB by running Toolbox Shrink Dataset (set to 1 days)..
When / if this happens again, what is consuming CPU? Also launch toolbox then and then grab a new help/show console and upload that then

I will do this. It's basically a competition between my MacOS, Chrome, and MoneyDance but it just grows and grows
