Alpha Android app build (build 20260517) launch and PIN issue

Hi

The app has stopped requesting biometrics or a PIN to open it. I have even deleted the app and reinstalled it.

Any suggestions please?

   Just installed Android Build 2026.05.17 (build 20260517) as an Alpha tester. After installation the app works. Authentication works. However if a turn off the Pin Lock under Settings and close the app, the app screws up and it won’t open, I had to uninstall and reinstall. Reported to Sean the Moneydance Developer.
   Note: as a beta tester I only get 2026.04.13b(build 20260413) with no Authentication.

   Same issue, I never had security enabled on the app, after the 16 May update (on the Alpha channel) I now can't open the app at all. Have tried reinstalling, rebooting phone, deleting cache and data, nothing works.

   Alpha Android app. Build 2026.05.17 (build 20260517). I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. I just got the MD symbol, no message. By chance I found that if I close and reopen the app it works. Authentication is working.

   Hi, unfortunately uninstalling, reinstalling, closing, etc doesn't help me. Attached is what I see so I can not access any settings screen.

   At one stage after installing Alpha Android app build 2026.05.17 (build 20260517) for the first time I got the same screen as you posted. I uninstall/reinstalled the app and on opening I got the Moneydance symbol, no message. However if I closed the app and also the app running in the background on opening it again it worked. However if I set Pin Lock to off it screwed up again and I had to start over again.

   Reported your issue to Sean the Moneydance developer and he states “yep, sorry. I just found the cause of this and am pushing a fix”

   I am now running Alpha build 20260519.

   On my Android 19 so far it all seems to work.

   On my Android 11 it works OK when initially installed, that is with Pin Lock off. If I set Pin Lock on then I just get the Unlocking Moneydance message. I have to uninstall and reinstall and remember to leave Pin Lock off.

   What version of Android do you have?

    Thank you so much to everyone for their contributions and assistance, apologies, all the notifications went to Junk and I have been away so hadn't noticed.

    The great news is that it is all working again now, phew!
