Quote Loader
Moved seven(7) stocks from one account to another last Thursday using the "sell in one account, buy in the other" method. All seven had been updating in the first account just fine using Quote Loader. Quote Loader shows new daily prices for these stocks. However these same seven stocks are not having their values updated in the second account - the Portfolio View shows 0% Change, 0.00 Unrealized Gains. This is unrealistic (example: AMZN).
I have restarted MoneyDance as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the Quote Loader, no change. I am unaware of any setting I could have overlooked for these stocks in the second account (other stocks are updating normally).
Suggestions?

Have a look at the security listing under tools, each security should only appear once.

AMZN (and others) are listed twice. I see the + - options - what are the
implications of removing those which have not been updated (e.g. affect on
history)? Thx

Unfortunately, the securities cited appear twice. If I try to remove either of them, an error "Cannot remove security that is being used: ..." is generated. Step(s) to address this inconsistency?

Some finance program requires that a separate security be defined for each account the security is in. Moneydance on the other hand is designed so that each security should only be defined once and that global information for that security is only stored once in this definition. Multiple security definitions tend to cause problems, in most instances, in Moneydance.
The Toolbox extension has an option in the Currency and Securities Tools section to merge duplicate securities and their related transactions so you only have a single security definition.
Hence I would look to use this tool to resolve the problem and clean up the securities definitions.
It is important to take a backup of the data before using this tool, these are substantial changes. and it is possible that it may not go to plan, but in all testing the tools in Toolbox have proven to be very reliable and robust. I did test this specific tool during its development phase and found it worked well.

I should have added that this tool requires Moneydance version 2021.2 (Build 3089) or newer.

Actually, I found a solution. It turns out that setting an account to "Inactive" does not set the securities in that account to "Inactive" (don't you think it should?).
Tools -> Accounts -> select the stock listed under the original (now inactive) account -> Edit -> Inactive
Quote Loader will now update the stock price in the second account.

No marking an account as inactive should not mark the securities as inactive. It comes back to the intent that a security definition is intended to be global, rather than having what is effectively a duplicate security in each account.
