Java error keeps Moneydance from opening
Yesterday, I installed several extensions and MD was working fine. This morning when I tried to start MD I received an error message (see attachment 1). I backup my files to an external drive everyday using Perfect Backup which creates copies of folders and files. Since I could not get MD to open, I restored my MD directory from my latest backup. However, now I get a second error (see attachment 2) indicating a problem with decrypting my file. What do I need to do to get mt MD to open properly?
Thank you in advance,
Charlie Cross

The second error is the the file is corrupted. Somehow the backup software has changed something. Since it is an encrypted file and corruption will keep it from being unencrypted and you should consider it lost.
The first error looks like an out of date extension. But I am not sure.

I agree with @sth and I also think the first error looks like an out of date extension, we have seen errors like that before.

Yup. First error is simply an out of date extension.
The latter is probably file corruption.
You should be using MD’s own backup solution and using file/restore backup on the xxxx.moneydancearchive file.
Also check what version of MD you have installed.

Thank you to those who have responded. Seeing that the error may be a corruption issue, I purchased and installed the most up-to-date version of MD. I then restored/imported my data file for the latest MD created backup. Now everything seems to be working fine with no loss of data. Thanks again for taking the time to help me with this issue.
