accounts. My first question is if you are attempting to do a direct
connect through Moneydance, or to download a file for
import.

Second, Wells Fargo and Wells Fargo Investments Accounts are two
separate institutions for the purposes of direct connect. Is it
possible you do not have the appropriate access set up for the
non-investment accounts?

Most financial institutions will require you to enable your
accounts for application-based online banking. If you have your
financial institution set up your account as if you were using
Quicken 2008 for Windows then it should also work with Moneydance
since they use the same protocol. This is sometimes necessary as
many banks don't yet recognize Moneydance or know how to deal with
it. Keep in mind that application-based online banking often
requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM
or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from
Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you
know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

Do let me know, and we'll move on to the next steps.

Moneydance. Importing a QIF formatted file manually downloaded from
the WF website works fine.

Wells Fargo apparently does have a separate mechanism for
app-based banking; the fact that the WF Investment worked led me to
believe it would also work for the 'normal' accounts. I'm enrolling
in that now.

thanks for the prompt response.

cwilson
