online banking - off to a bad start
I've just purchased and downloaded MoneyDance and have created a checking account.
When I tried to enable online banking for the account I immediately ran into a problem. I select the new account (so the register shows) then selected Online -> Setup OnlineBanking. In the dialog that pops up the list of Financial Instutions is blank.
Any suggestions about what might be wrong??

Hi Medora,
Online > Setup Online Banking > Click, 'New Connection' you will then be presented with a list of Financial Institutions supported by Moneydance. Choose your F.I. from the list.
You should then be brought back to the former screen with your F.I. in the list.
Look to Chapter 8 of the Moneydance Users Guide.

Yeah, the problem is Moneydance is in desperate need of activity indicaters. When it takes a while for an operation to complete there is no indication what so ever that something is happening. The user is left looking at a completly idle screen not knowing whether they did something wrong or are supposed to do something else to complete the operation.
During transaction download an activity indicator appears for a short time but disappears long before the screen is updated with the new transactions. How is the user to know whether the download is complete but there are no new transactions????

Medora,
You are absolutely right about the need for activity indicators, and it is a feature we are working to integrate in the near future. Kevin is correct with his advice about setting up online banking, as well as in referencing our user guide which has step-by-step instructions for setting up this service.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
