my personal account is with BofA, and I am able to add payees from
MD. Can you recount your steps that are leading to being unable to
add a payee? Best, Brian

Brian Adlertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1415962009-05-07T18:17:20Z2009-05-07T18:17:20ZNew Payee

Thank you for responding. My Moneydance version is 2008r3(629)
running on Windows.

This problem has been going on for a couple of years, but I've
been just working around it. However, it was not always a problem
and I had previously added Payees over the many years that I've
used MoneyDance

When I click on "Create New Payee", I get the input table. After
filling in all the information and clicking the OK button, the
screen disappears, but the new Payee is not added to the list. The
same thing happens when I try to edit an existing Payee. No change
is made to the MD listings nor at the BofA site.

I can (and do) however, go to the BofA site and add the Payee.
Then it is added to the Payee list the next time I open MoneyDance.
It is becoming a drag and I finally decided to see what is the
matter. Reinstalling MD did not remedy the problem. And the problem
was present before updating to this current version.

I wonder whether your BofA access is the same as mine - since
they have two on-line banking set-ups depending on State. I'm in
AZ. However, to reiterate, I had no problems adding Payees for the
many years that I've used MD.

Again, Thanks for any help you may provide, Dave Vincent

tried to add a payee. Went looking to see if anybody else had this
same problem and ran into this thread, so here I am to add one more
as being effected by this apparent bug. I use B of A too.

But I figured I could add it on B of A's site and MD would find
it. You guys confirmed that for me, so I'll do that. Although
inconvenient and you should obviously be able to add a payee, I
don't add them frequently. And when I need to, at least I can still
do it, but not using MD. An inconvenience, but minor.

eddiebtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/1415962010-03-22T17:25:31Z2010-03-22T17:25:31ZNew Payee

Hello everyone,

We haven't been able to correct this. BofA seems to be somewhat

I believe we may have figured out the problem here. I'm sorry
this thread wasn't updated sooner. The problem seems to be that BoA
has some kind of lockout mechanism on adding/editing payees that
can be triggered if you are switching from Quicken to Moneydance
(and possibly in other ways that we're not clear on). You can clear
this lockout by going to the BoA website and editing a payee
slightly. After doing this, you should be able to modify payees
through Moneydance again.

More details about the problem and solution can be found on this
thread: <a href=

http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/questions/1848-transaction...

It would be great if other folks were able to confirm whether or
not this fix works for them. Sorry again for not posting here about
this! I think the thread just got lost in the forums.
