connection setting. I'll check into it about update our connection
if it's out of date.

problem might be on Fifth Third's server. They seem to have updated
a certificate and done so incorrectly. Hopefully they will resolve
this soon. It would probably be a good idea to contact them and ask
about this issue as well.

two and contact them if the error continues.

savings, and credit. Problem is, I've tried calling their cust
service before and they act like I'm speaking swahili when I try to
explain that I'm using MoneyDance; if it isn't Quicken or MS Money
they simply say they don't support my software. Is there any way
MoneyDance can work around their cert problems?

Erictag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T14:56:59Z2012-09-17T14:56:59ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

I'm guessing here, but I suspect this issue would be affecting
all the tools that use the OFX connection.

voliveriotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T15:25:48Z2012-09-17T15:25:48ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

It depends on how lenient those tools are with respect to
accepting SSL certificates; they could, in theory, accept it
because the domain (53.com) is the same. The problem is that
banking.53.com is using a certificate created for www.53.com, which isn't technically
correct. I hope you're right, because I suspect having Quicken
problems is the only way we're going to get 5/3 to notice and fix
the problem quickly.

Erictag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T15:31:47Z2012-09-17T15:31:47ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

I know somebody who works at Fifth Third in IT security, I'll
send them a message and see if we he knows someone internally that
can help.

voliveriotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T15:55:40Z2012-09-17T15:55:40ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

@voliverio - that would be awesome! The right person can likely
fix this quicly; I've fixed this exact mistake before on a live
site, it's just a matter of finding the right person who has the
authority to do it (no easy task in a bank, unfortunately).

Erictag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T16:03:19Z2012-09-17T16:03:20ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

Hi, I work for IGG Software, the makers of iBank.

One of our customers just informed us he spoke to an IT
Specialist at the bank and that FIfth Third is having server
'issues' and hopes to be back online by midweek.

Melissatag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-17T20:26:02Z2012-09-17T20:26:59ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

Looks like 5/3 may have fixed things; I can now download
transactions for all my accounts. And this OFX verification page
now says their SSL is validated (earlier today it listed it as
"Failed"): <a href=

I got in touch with the guy I knew
there, and he emailed the certificates guy. Perhaps we brought it
to their attention, who knows. Either way, glad its working
now.

voliveriotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/187884362012-09-18T12:10:28Z2012-09-18T12:10:28ZFifth Third Bank Communication Problem

Well, voliverio, I at least am happy to give you credit for
causing them to fix this!

I'm glad it's working again, and please feel free contact us if
you have further issues.
