Accounts will not delete

Despite going through the process to delete accounts, they re-appear. Not just balances - all the transactions. Why is this occurring and what can I do to permanently delete them?

    Hi Anthony,
    Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

    To delete an account, select the account in the left sidebar, so that the account name is highlighted.
    Deleting an account will also delete all transactions associated with that account.
    If the account contains transactions, you'll have to confirm the deletion by typing 'yes' into the delete window.
