No, there was simply a "Beginning snippet..." and then a "Finished running snippet...".

I think I see my mistake. When I opened the Moneydance Developer Resources window, it opened with only three buttons above the left hand sub-window: "Open Script" New Script", and "Edit Script". On the next line, there is a "Run Snippet". As I did not see any other run button, I pushed the "Run Snippet" button. It said it started and finished running the snippet normally.

Tonight, in repeating the steps I took yesterday, I expanded the Moneydance Developer Resources window and a fourth button popped up on the left side sub-window, "Run".

I am not a programmer and yesterday I was simply trying to recover my data. Was what I was loading a "snippet" or a script"; it was all a bit lost on me. Tonight I see the script has print statements that should have printed in the console window which did not see yesterday so I was probably not running the script correctly.

Thanks for your help.

Tom Krishantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/479981912020-01-13T09:13:41Z2020-01-13T09:13:41ZSync is Locked -

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Tom

The link you used to the instructions on how to convert a secondary data set to a primary data set was for my process for 2017.

For 2019 try this.

To convert a secondary data set to a primary data set you need to run the script md2017_convert_secondary_to_master.py in Moneydance 2019. Don’t worry it states 2017.

With your data set open click WINDOW - SHOW MONEYBOT CONSOLE use OPEN SCRIPT to select the script and click RUN. Expand the window if necessary, to see the RUN button. Wait for the script to complete its run, it can take a minute. Close and reopen Moneydance. You should now be able to change the syncing method.

With a secondary data set the syncing method is fixed, greyed out and cannot be change. You get the same result after restoring a secondary computer Moneydance backup. Make sure the auto backups for the primary and secondary computers are not set to use the same location if you are say using Dropbox.

Hope this helps

derekkent23
