There aren't "known problems" as far as I have seen on navigation, edition and input.

Javascript has nothing to do with Moneydance and is usually not asked to be updated. Java on the other hand is periodically updated, but MD has its own version and will never ask for an update to Java.

Can you please give the details of this popup regarding Javascript that you are seeing?

I also upgraded from an older version - mostly just because I forgot to backup the program and key when upgrading my HD. Regardless, I'm noticing a lot more bugs with this version than my previous one (2015).

Overall slower to open and close (my .md file is 12MB)

Just had a transaction reminder window "hang" after executing the transaction

Intermittent crashing

I'm running OS 10.13.6 - should I "downgrade" my MD copy to something earlier?

I have been a MD user for a long time (2011?) with very few issues, so this "shiny new" 2019 version has definitely lost a bit of the sparkle I thought I would get for the $.

Thanks!

Roberttag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480572652020-03-23T00:40:38Z2020-03-23T00:40:38ZMoneydance Version 2019.3 (1880)

Hello,

What you describe doesn't seem to be a common experience. The next time you have one of these crashes, before you relaunch the program, can you send me your errlog.txt file? This should capture any errors that led to the crash, even if they're not displayed on screen. If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

or:

Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and type in:

~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

Also, your data isn't stored in a .md file, it's stored in a .moneydance file. I'm not sure if you were just shortening the name, but I thought I'd mention it in case you're not looking at the correct file.

This has lead to problems in the past. You can check for hidden ones near where the errlog.txt is in a folder called fmodule

sth
