Unable to download transactions from American Express

Used to work well - until today. All other accounts (banking, credit cards, investments) held with other institutions still download just fine.

Getting this error message @ every attempt to download from AmEx:
"A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: java.io.IOException: HTTP Error:403 Forbidden"

Please, provide remedy.

    I have the same issue and have tried the same as others. No help. Just grand!
    Other accounts work fine. CITI, CHASE, etc

    I just tried downloading Amex and it is working again. No changes were made on my end. My original connection setup from the days before the problem is the same connection that worked just now.

    Tried again 5 minutes ago (without any deleting/resetting of the particulars as suggested by MD CS, since others proved it is ineffective). Worked just fine.

    Apparently (other?) issues with AmEx downloads still exist, thus I'd prefer to keep this thread open, and maintain expectations of a robust solution and a full disclosure from IK.

    Working for me now too. And, I did do a complete (reset with new connection) online setup. Whatever problem Amex had, they have (apparently) fixed. Using mac build 1903.

    For me Amex is back to working normally - after re-setup of the connection (drop down list - "Online" - "Set Up Online Banking" - and followed the steps, this time getting the ask for username and password that was missing before).

    I think it is pretty clear that what has been happening has all been on the Amex side.

    I had deleted the Amex profille. Set it up again and also received the error 2015: Date too far in the future.

    I just tried it again after making no additional changes and it worked for me for 2 different AmEx accounts.

    I recall seeing that error before in the forums but do not recall what the solution was, you may have to do some searching.

    I Reinstalled Linux Version 2019.3 (1880)
    I then disabled Online Access for my AE account. Then I successfully re-enabled it. However I still get this error when I try to download:

    There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

    The error code reported by the server was: 2015

    Date too far in future

    I do not know what else I can do at this point.

    Still no good for me.
    Date in future.

    disabled online
    set up online
    same result

    rinse, lather, repeat.

    It appears that I have been able to get back running.

    I don’t know why but my passwords and login got “garbled”

     - I ended up with 3 different passwords for Moneydance and others stopped working.

    I found I had to reinitialize logins for most of my accounts - and then, they would continue working - at least for the couple of days that have passed.

    My Bank was about the worst

    Looks like my Passwords have been scrambled! My login’s have all been reset - like putting dice in a cup and throwing them down.. What happened?? Could it be a computer problem?

    Moneydance is the only file I use, add to and continue to use.. Its not like a book..

    It can be compared to a spreadsheet you update. I hav lots of those and they don’t exhibit the same problems Moneydance does..

    anybody has a remedy for AMEX? when I try to re-setup it, it goes through the wizard, and then nothing happens - no online banking gets setup, and no errors pop up. just nothing.

    When you select Online --> Setup Online Banking, do you see an option to 'Reset Sync'? If so, select this option then attempt to connect with the bank again and let me know if you see any difference.

    Clicking on the "Reset Sync" appears to have worked! No errors appeared when downloading and the transactions downloaded with all the information I need. Thanks Maddy!

    AMEX Download worked; stored account# and passwords for CC and Banks scrambled. Had to reinitialized all connections. Major issue now is that I get the same (2) checks paid in. 2 different accounts.

    Is it possible that my computer is bad??

    Moneydance is the only program I run that I can verify what is shows..

    just a user here.

    Your computer is probably fine.

    What you probably did, given two different accounts, is choose the same account at Amex for both of your MD accounts as opposed to picking one for each.
