How long before someone helps me? My Moneydance version is 2014.4 and I have a MacBook Air: Mac OSSierra 10.12.6. I am registered.

Suzanne Craigtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482424912020-04-15T02:27:05Z2020-04-15T02:27:05Zcorrupt or missing file

just a user,

This is not a live chat. You leave messages and it may be a few days before you get a response. But knowledgeable users may offer suggestions. I suppose you are talking about the password you used for your MD database file? My suggestion would be to cancel the password entry and see what database files are shown. Try selecting a different file.

mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482424912020-04-15T02:55:09Z2020-04-15T02:55:09Zcorrupt or missing file

I am a fellow user.

These are forum systems, they are not chat systems so exchanges are more email like in terms of speed.

Moneydance 2014 uses an older file structure it is likely you will need to restore from a backup or from a checkpoint file

See the following article for information on restoring from a checkpoint file:

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/archive-moneydance-2014-and-2...

Some warning are needed. Sierra is a Moneydance unfriendly version of MacOS. Many problems have been reported with Sierra around applications written in the Java language and I know of no version of Moneydance that is supported on this version, or at least the last three point releases when Apple made changes.

Moneydance is supported on High Sierra but the minimum Moneydance version is 2017.6 from memory.

You may well need assistance from someone more familiar with MacOS than I am.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482424912020-04-15T15:11:47Z2020-04-15T15:11:48Zcorrupt or missing file

Thanks for all the info — especially the Sierra warnings. Sounds like I need to invest in a newer MD version — 2017.6 or newer. I finally got everything up and running again. Again, thanks.

Suzanne Craigtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482424912020-04-15T15:14:01Z2020-04-15T15:14:01Zcorrupt or missing file

Thanks for your suggestions and the heads up about wait time on MD responses. I am up and running again! I think I’m going to have to get a newer version of MD. Again, thanks for your help.

Suzanne Craig
