I apologize for the confusion. This is a web forum, not instant chat. You should expect the conversation to be more at an email pace.

Were you using Moneydance 2019 on your iMac before that system crashed? If not, which version were you using? That affects whether we can recover your data via Dropbox, and the method to do so.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, did you set up syncing following these instructions before your iMac had crashed: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/sync... ?

How far are you getting in the process before you run into problems? Are you receiving any error messages, and if so, what are they?

Before it crashed my files were saved to Dropbox, and I also use the mobil app, it also syncs with Dropbox. I have found the last backup to my external hard drive and have opened it with Moneydance. I now want to sync it with dropbox to bring the file up to date. The version that I have downloaded to my MacBook is 2019.3. I follow the prompts but nothing happens.

Timothy Montanatag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/483565472020-05-24T11:56:31Z2020-05-24T11:56:31ZComputer failed

Hi Timothy,

Firstly, it might be useful for you to read through this article.

Especially, this point:

If you are syncing your data with a mobile device, or another system - you should NOT move your data file to a shared folder location, like Dropbox. The file should remain on your local system if your data is being synced or shared.

So to understand this correctly, where is your most updated file?
