You say that you can’t open the MD app, but that it asks you about Dropbox. Just installing the DEB file should not ask about Dropbox.

Dropbox is only used to sync MD between Computers & Mobile devices & comes much later in the setting up of MD. You don’t need Dropbox at all if you don’t need to sync

Can you confirm that :-

You have installed Linux on your Chromebook

You downloaded the DEB version of MD off this website, and you installed it under
Linux

You already have a Dropbox account.

It is possible that your New Chromebook does not meet the basic requirements.

Sorry for the confusion. It has been nothing but problems trying to load
this app but I think it is what we are looking for hence my stubbornness to
try to figure it out. Thank you for your patience.
I was going through the process of writing a response with screenshots
showing what was going on and after uninstalling moneydance and
reinstalling the .deb file worked. I don't know what I was doing
differently before but it wasn't working. So I am in at least...BUT...it
is tiny (other apps are not showing up this small). Ideas for this problem?

OK see that you are almost there!

Below is a further link from the Knowledge Base, which should double your MD screen fonts & allow you to start using the program.

Screen fonts scale properly under Windows & Mac PC’s but can show the issue you’ve found under Hi Res Linux displays.

I would be interested to know what Chromebook you are using?

This is the Chromebook we just got
https://www.google.com/chromebook/device/samsung-galaxy-chromebook/
I am stuck. I am new to this chromebook OS. This device is a replacement
of a laptop that was running Windows XP and I have worked in Windows 7 and
more recently 10 I am still quite lost navigating on this device. I don't
know where to find the file mentioned in the directions to fix the
resolution problem. I go to 'files', then 'downloads' which is where I
found the file to open/run Moneydance (moneydance_linux_amd64.deb). I
don't see any other files there. I have tried searching the computer. I
don't know where those files might be. I checked 'Linux files'; there is
nothing in that folder.
