Where's the reputed Infinite Kind help? Still stuck with this account that, Moneydance created for itself, contains no transactions, and can't be deleted.

Philip Bosworthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/486662972020-10-10T20:31:33Z2020-10-10T20:31:33ZUnable to Delete Account

I'm a fellow user.

It is fairly well known what usually causes restored accounts to appear.

They are generally caused by Moneydance encountering some transactions that refer to a category or account that is no longer present. These references can be from a transaction, reminder, or sub-account. Because MD doesn't know the name of the category/account it only has the ID number so it uses that to create the "Restored" accounts and uses this ID as part of the account name. This occurring on upgrading to a new version is not that unusual, it seems it was ignored on the older releases, but probably should not have.

The problem I have is that there are no transactions in the account, we normally expect there to be and by fixing these and emptying the account you can then delete the account.

I would expect this is why you are not getting any user responses, as to why the support staff do not respond that is something I cannot answer.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/486662972020-10-10T20:37:24Z2020-10-10T20:37:24ZUnable to Delete Account

Hi Philip,

I'm so sorry for your message slipping through the cracks. The Restored accounts occur when there is something in Moneydance that references an account that no longer exists. It seems clear there are no transactions in this account, but I wonder if there might be some other object that references this account and keeps bringing it back from the dead? Is it possible there are any reminders that point to it, even ones that are currently inactive?

Thanks,
Sean
