I have lost all the data in Moneydance in moving the personal finance files to a new laptop.
My computer specialist was performing the move.
Initially the files worked but the data was coming through the home network from the old machine. Then all files disappeared and Money dance looked like a new install on both machines.
In the background he was able to trace the backed up files and their size but was not able to recover them to either machine. He created a desktop file showing the files and their size.
Can you help recover the data to 28th Nov. Personal finances 2 is the only one i really interested to recover.
I have the Licence Key if necessary

Is this Mac or Windows? What version? Also what version of moneydance?

I am unclear from your description whether you think you have the dataset or not? Do you have the .moneydance\ (Note the dot) folder and contents? If so, in the moneydance welcome screen, bottom right, choose open other, navigate to this folder and open... if not, find this dataset/folder on your backup.

Default locations; but could be anywhere...
More recent versions of Windows: C:\Users\(username)\.moneydance\Documents

Older version of Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\.moneydance\Documents

    (Not support. A fellow user)

Have recovered the data set from external back up. All seems well. The big mistake made by me was to use a newer version of Moneydance. Thanks for our help
