Can you confirm that you restarted Moneydance after making the changes?

Can you confirm that you are choosing 'Custom' as the Theme?

Can you provide a screenshot of the 'Custom Theme' window indicating the 'Future transaction background (alternating)' color palette?

Is there anything that varies from the default as far as your installation of Moneydance is concerned? I'm thinking that a permission problem may not be letting the change to take effect.

The file involved in controlling the custom colors in Moneydance is called
custom_theme.properties

Check to make sure that the custom_theme.properties file has been created in the .moneydance folder.

Thank you for the screenshot(s).

I can not reproduce this behavior in MD 2021 preview build (2012) in a Windows 10 environment.

If you are currently using MD2021 (2006), perhaps you could try updating it to build (2012) to see if doing so resolves the problem.

You can d/l the current preview build here:

Right click any transaction & select Single Line Mode, then you will get solid yellow!

I agree. It should work and does work (for me) in two line mode.

I'm not versed in the Mac OS. I will have to yield to those more knowledgeable in that area to help you further.

I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

As Kevin has said if you are on Moneydance 2021 build 2006 then try build 2012. Build 2006 has known issues with MacOS in general.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489033682020-12-14T22:03:56Z2020-12-14T22:03:56ZFuture transactions alternate row color

The latest, downloaded from your website today.

Bruce Kullmanntag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489033682020-12-14T22:06:25Z2020-12-14T22:06:25ZFuture transactions alternate row color

How do I download 2012?

Bruce Kullmanntag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489033682020-12-14T22:07:30Z2020-12-14T22:14:19ZFuture transactions alternate row color

Hi Bruce,

I'm on a Mac (Big Sur) with MD2021.2012 and it works - see screen shots - in 1-line and 2-line mode. I also tried 2021.2007 and 2020 and they all also work.... The customise button is clunky in that you have to press it twice to get the window to the front and it doesn't always save, but once it saves, it works for me..... Perhaps try deleting the theme file and starting again?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)
