Hi spswiftsteve

Quote Loader is returning fund prices for me so some further investigation is required.

Hi spswiftsteve

The screen shot shows a test I ran on a number of your securities returning current prices.
Tested on Windows 10 Moneydance 2021(3032) Quote Loader 3027.

First thing to try update Moneydance to 2021(3032) at https://infinitekind.com/preview
Most people don’t get as far as running Quote Loader on 2021(2006) with Mac Big Sur

You should also in your computers system Preferences, General section, the option "Prefer tabs [always] when opening documents" should be changed from "always" to never or "in full screen"

After update report back.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-29T14:42:35Z2020-12-29T14:42:35ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

Hello. I have done the update. I also checked and the Preference was already set at in full screen. Unfortunately I got the same result. No prices and just the one individual stock (Societe Generale) and the currencies that updated.

spswiftstevetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-29T15:11:59Z2020-12-29T15:11:59ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi spswiftsteve

OK let’s investigate further.

With Quote Loader open click Quote Loader HELP – TURN DEBUG ON/OFF selected DETAILED.

Close then re-open Moneydance and open Quote Loader and click GET PRICES.
When the run is complete close Moneydance and post the Moneydance errlog.txt file.

Mac OS, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt or:
~/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder you can open Finder and hold down the option key while selecting the Go menu and the Library folder option should occur or you can open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and copy and paste in the following:
~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

Post the errlog.txt file

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-29T22:58:14Z2020-12-29T23:23:37ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi spswiftsteve

I think I see what the issue is.
You have set the Exch Mod to LSE for the Tickers starting with LU
If you take a look at my post that included the test of some of your Ticker you will see I left Exch Mod blank.
Try that.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-30T01:43:10Z2020-12-30T01:43:10ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

It worked. Thank you so much. It has been a great help. The strange thing is that the LSE EXCH MOD was set like that from the beginning and it did work until 21st December. Any way - as long as it works….

Could I ask one final question: I have some funds that start with HK in their identifier. They have never loaded and still do not. Is it because there is no price at FT for them? I suspect that they are listed in Hong Kong. I have given four examples.

spswiftstevetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-30T09:03:08Z2020-12-30T09:03:08ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi spswiftsteve

If you read my PDF attached to the Quote Loader release notes at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/4914-the...

You will note that in the last paragraph on page 6 talks about what you should select for the Exch Mod when the ticker is a ISIN code such as you are using, e.g. LU0053903380

If you have not read this PDF take a look to ensure you are getting the best out of Quote Loader. By the way the first two characters defines the country code, in the case of LU Luxenberg.

The only explanation I have on how it worked before is that back in June build 3025 was released correcting a error in that in earlier builds with the source FT selected the London Stock Exchange (LSE) did not add the extension :LSE to the ticker which is sometimes needed for non-ISIN tickers. So for FT selecting LSE before build 3025 would have added a blank extension.

As for your HK (Hong Kong) tickers as far as I can see they are not supported.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772020-12-31T02:36:07Z2020-12-31T02:36:07ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

Thanks so much. Hi spswiftsteve

It appears that the BlackRock European Special Situations fund A2 is traded in two currencies one being LU0121276677 in US Dollars. For some reason FT seems to have removed this fund from its listing, maybe be it will return, who knows, although it is still quoted on other sites e.g. https://www.fundsquare.net/security/summary?idInstr=6302

and by Blackrock itself at

https://www.blackrock.com/sg/en/products/229662/blackrock-european-...

As Mike Suggests the other currencies it is traded in is Euros using ticket LU0154234636
The dropdown on the Blackrock site confirms this.

One option is to change the ticker to LU0154234636 and ensure you also use Quote Loader to download US Dollar/Euro exchange rates so although QL will download in Euros it will convert the returned price to US Dollars before storing the values in the Security History window.

Suggest you do an EXPORT BACKUP then try this out.
1. Change ticker symbol from LU0121276677 to LU0154234636
2. Ensure under TOOLS – CURRENCIES – double click on EURO – EDIT that SHOW ON SUMMARY PAGE is ticked.
3. Set up QL as screen shot.
4. Click GET EXCHANGE RATES and save the returned Euro exchange rate.
5. Click GET PRICES and note the BlackRock fund is returned in Euros (Traded Currency) but converted to US Dollars (New Price).

As QL is doing a currency conversion it needs an up to date exchange rate before it downloads the Blackrock price see page 5 of PDF 106 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/4914-the...

Closing price 5 fed 2021
QL LU0154234636 price is 55.72 Euros
Using the returned exchange rate QL converts to a rounded 66.68 US Dollars.
Comparing this with the Blackrock site for LU0121276677 it gives a price of 66.97 US Dollars, small difference probably due to exchanged rate used. Can you live with that small error? If not you will need to load the price manually into QL.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489353772021-02-06T10:41:52Z2021-02-06T10:41:52ZQuote Loader Extension stopped updating unit trust prices

Thank you very much. So I changed I changed the source from FT to Yahoo, and in most cases that worked, even though I can see the prices correctly quoted on the FT site itself. The exception is LU0895806098:GBP , Jupiter Global Fund - Jupiter Dynamic Bond Class D GBP Acc HSC, Price (GBP)14.40Today's Change-0.06 / -0.41%.
This did not work even with Yahoo as the source.
I have an older version of Quoteloader on another PC which I hardly use (3016). Guess what? When I ran it all the prices downloaded perfectly.
An example of a fund which on 3027 with FT as a source did not lownload, but with Yahoo as a source did download, and downloaded correctly with 3026 in both cases is Baillie Gifford International Fund B AccumulationGB0005941272:GBX.
Hi davidvernonlong

The build of Quote loader on your old computer must be before 3025.
Build 3025 add exchange extension “:LSE” to FT Ticker symbols when London Stock Exchange is selected under Exch Mod. Before this build this exchange extension was incorrectly omitted (blank). It just happens it worked against you on build 3027.
