There are multiple factors that come into the decision. I am still using Moneydance 2012 for my production data.

From a technology point of view it comes down to does the version you are using work properly on the version of the Operating system you have. The current versions of Windows and Linux are pretty good about running older versions of Applications including Moneydance, MacOS is not.

Then there is the question of product capability. Does the newer versions give you a capability that you want or need, only you can answer this one.

Unlike many other companies the organisation behind Moneydance does not force you to upgrade, you may need to because of changes in technology but that is out of their hands.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489423942020-12-31T21:28:19Z2020-12-31T21:28:20Zupdating moneydance

I went ahead and renewed at 50% off but now it is saying it is a trial and will only do 100 transactions, I can’t find the screen to put my new key in.
