Assets- separate without roll up to subtotals?

I am having difficulty as I want to have each asset separate and not combining into sub totals. How can I change the parent account structure that keeps adding my new accounts to a parent account that doesn't make sense?

    It is unclear to me where you are wanting this to occur and exactly what it should look like. In the side bar, in the summary page in reports?
