I suspect you are using Moneydance 2021 build 2006 and are trying to do this from the Welcome to Moneydance screen, in which case this is not unexpected as a bug has been found.

If this is the case upgrade to the latest preview release and try again.

All the data and transactions came in, but for some reason the balance is saying negative 100,000+, when it should be positive 8,000.
Is there a fix for this?

Julie Caspertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489646552021-01-11T22:07:25Z2021-01-11T22:07:25ZProblem migrating from Quicken Essentials

That is not a "it has done this so do that to fix it" type of error you need to determine where the error is.

Typically you start with looking at the initial balance of the account, There is an inital balance field in the Moneydance account info screen but it may also have come across as a transaction or it may not come across at all, you then look at the transactions, are there any in error, are there missing transactions etc.

Without knowing where the error is there is no way of knowing how to fix it.

dwg
