<p>Moneydance will only prompt you to save the data file if you
have made changes since you opened the program. Do you have the
preference to save on every quit set? It is under
File->Preferences on the general tab. Setting this option will
save the data file without prompting.</p>

<p>I have that preference set. But it still does nto always ask.
When I reopen the file I get a prompt that the autosave file is
newer than the data file.</p>

you can determine if there is a consistent way of reproducing this
problem that would greatly assist me in diagnosing the cause.</p>
