And you're using the "open other" option from the menu bar or welcome screen?

Double clicking on one of the files should also work. If not, try dragging one of the files onto an open Moneydance program window.

Yes the files end with just .moneydance and I have used the open other option. I can open the same .moneydance file on 3 other machines; one running Mac OS 11.6.1, one running Mac OS 10.13.6 and one running Windows 10 21H2; using the open other option. The machines with Mac OS 11 and Mac OS 12 have Moneydance build 4062 on them, the rest of the machines have build 4060. I have also tried installing Moneydance 2020 and Moneydance 2017 on the Mac OS 12 machine and if I use the open other option the .moneydance file are greyed out and can't be clicked on.

I can double click on the file and they will open. If I close Moneydance
and then double click on a different .moneydance file I get a prompt to
enter the password for the previous file, if I then click cancel on the
password prompt a prompt for the password of the current file will pop
up. I don't normally double click files to open them so I don't know if
the password prompt for the previous file is normal. Also if I close
Moneydance and later reopen Moneydance it will open the last file that
was opened.
