Not sure about Sync. I didn't think I was using it, but below in the
errlog.txt is says "loading synced txn files..." so I'm not sure. I
didn't do anything to set it up.

Due to this 'loading archive file. resetting sync uuid ', It looks to me as if you are opening a xxx.moneydancearchive (backup) file somehow (thus restoring previous dataset).... How are you opening your dataset? This would explain why you lost txns as you went back in time perhaps?

Have you renamed a xxx.moneydancearchivefile to xxx.moneydance or something?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-05T23:00:27Z2021-12-05T23:00:31ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

I rebooted the machine for the OS updates, and MD was open when I
rebooted the machine. After the reboot, I opened MD the way I always do
and the txns were missing. I tried using the "Restore from Backup..."
from the File menu and got the same thing I had when I opened MD after
the reboot. The date and time of the backup was right before I
rebooted, and the data included everything from 11/1 to 12/5, including
the txns I had just added before the reboot.

No, I have not renamed any of the MD archive files.

Thanks

Randy Kelsoetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-05T23:19:39Z2021-12-05T23:19:39ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

I would suggest the following.
1/ add a test txn
2/ restart MD
3/ restart MD for a second time
4/ check the text txn is there ok

If so, just move on and forget it for now. There is no obvious error in log.

It’s possible u had a corruption and you’ve fixed it with the restore.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-05T23:25:51Z2021-12-05T23:25:52ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

I wish there was a "Save" button, but not sure it would do any good. I
have restarted MD after adding trxn's and it has been fine. The missing
trxns has happened twice now, so I am concerned. I WILL make sure I
close MD before I reboot, just in case.

The restore only restored the corruption. :-) I had to manually re-add
the trxns twice.

Thanks

Randy Kelsoetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-06T07:38:19Z2021-12-06T07:38:19ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

The next time it happens, immediately do Help/Show Console and capture the output... Also, wait a couple of minutes and then restart MD again..

One last thing.. Upgrade to MD2020.2 (1929) from here:
https://infinitekind.com/download_2020

Download and save this attached script

Launch the newer version.

And then go to Window/Show Moneybot Console. OPEN SCRIPT. Select this PY file. Then click RUN (not Run Snippet).. It will popup a window of data about your dataset... Capture that as a text file and post that back here...

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-06T09:02:07Z2021-12-06T09:02:08ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

Okay, thanks so much for the help. I upgraded to MD2020.2 (1929), and it
seems to be working fine. Attached is the output from the script you
sent. Please let me know if you need anything else.

If I see the problem again, I will capture the output from the Console,
wait a few minutes and restart MD again.

Randy Kelsoetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495284442021-12-06T09:24:07Z2021-12-06T09:24:07ZAfter rebooting machine, about 20 transactions are missing

Your dataset is tiny..
