Hello, we have transferred our Moneydance to our new iMac with OS Monterey 12.0.1. We have just lost many hours of work in Moneydance. Moneydance did not save the new information we input. Also, it is making odd noises and other issues.

How can we recover all of the work we just did, is there a copy somewhere on our computer?

Is Moneydance working in OS Monterey?

We need help urgently!

    What version of MD?

What do you mean by 'lost many hours work'? How do you know, what are your symptoms?

    What happened? A Crash?

Can you look at Help/Console and attach the output as a text file

There is 'no copy' but all the txns you did should be saved as changed txn records/files..

Do you have auto MD backups on? If so, to which directory?

How did you transfer the file?

Thanks. It is the newest version of Moneydance 2022 for mac. The new iMac has the newest version of Monterey. This is the new iMac with the new M1 processor and I noticed when we installed Moneydance, it had to install some other software to run the program. (I can't remember the name, maybe rosetta?) Does the new Moneydance work on our newi Mac with Monterey? Moneydance did not crash but it did not save all the work. i found the "archive" in the backup folder and this does not have all of the new work we did, so it seems to be gone. Unless you can give me another place to look?

Do you use MD Sync via dropbox?
As requested, please send your console log?
I find it hard to believe the work is gone.... MD logs each txn.. Are you sure you opened the right dataset the next time..?

    Look in here:

    for *.moneydance file.

    Which is the most recent?
Right click and show package contents
Navigate to safe/tiksync/in and out... Are there lots of recent *.txn files?

Also, load/install Toolbox extension and use the search for datasets option... See if there's another version?

Here's more info, my wife was entering data into accounts and Moneydance froze. When it was frozen, we quit it and it did not save all of the work done since the previous backup.

Question - is the ONLY WAY TO SAVE by QUITTING Moneydance? Or - Can it save every few minutes?

    We are on version 2022.3
Is this the newest version for Mac?

NO - MD DOES NOT SAVE A FILE as you think of it.... Every change is logged to disk almost immediately. If you answer my questions above, 1 by 1, we might get somewhere.
