If I import bank statements in the QFX format from TD Banking (Canada), the date of each transaction is one day out, compared to the Easyweb view of the statements. For example, the most recent transaction is a "monthly account fee" which went out on the 31st of last month - when imported, the transaction is dated the 30th of the month. Here's the relevant bit of data:

<STMTTRN>
<TRNTYPE>DEBIT
<DTPOSTED>20211231020000[-5:EST]
<TRNAMT>-29.95
<FITID>****REDACTED****

MONTHLY ACCOUNT FEE
</STMTTRN>

My uneducated guess is that the timezone is to blame and should probably be ignored - the bank is "in" Toronto (EST) and I'm "in" Whistler (Vancouver PST). To be honest I think the time should be ignored entirely. I'd like the data to match Easyweb's and also the format used by the credit card data (which does get the date right).

Let me know if I'm being stupid (it happens from time-to-time). Happy to send more data/screengrabs if needed. Is there anything I should try? My Mac is running Monterey 12.1, my TIme Zone is Vancouver.

Thanks.

Robert Rainthorpetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495838222022-02-02T17:55:14Z2022-02-02T17:55:19ZTD Quicken import data timezone (?)

Continued silence on this. But then there was no reply to this support ticket either:

which seems to be the same problem

Robert Rainthorpetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495838222022-02-02T17:58:30Z2022-02-02T17:58:35ZTD Quicken import data timezone (?)

And just to keep up the pressure on this, I've sort of "solved" the problem by removing the "[-5:EST]" from the file in vi.

IOW if the developers want an easy fix, just stop processing timezone information in QFX files, perhaps with a toggle to enable it if the user has weird files.

Robert Rainthorpe
