Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

You can navigate to File->Preferences->Appearance, in the list you should see Printing Font by clicking on the the drop-down menu you can choose the font type you like and set a font size, as well.

Finally, as dwg suggested you can set the printing orientation from within your report by navigating to Tools->Graphs and Reports->choose the report type you wish->Print in Landscape.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Many thanks for your reply. I had found the printing font size and have adjusted that accordingly, which is fine. However, when I checked the printing orientation from within the report, I found that the ‘Print in landscape’ was not selected, so I would have expected it to print in portrait, which it will not do. Perhaps the program is overruling ‘portrait’ as there is too much content to fit unless in landscapre mode?

If you can shed any light on the portrait/landscape query, that would be good, but if not I can carry on using landscape!

Thanks again for your help.

So, you could verify that the option is unchecked in both locations. Also, you could check from within your "Printing Properties" (from your printer) if the layout orientation is set to Portrait or Landscape.

If the problem persists, you may want to download and install Moneydance 2022.3 (4063).

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

‘Print in landscape’ is unchecked in the Report itself, whilst on printing I can find no option for choosing between portrait and landscape, whereas in the previous version I could definitely print in portrait! Below are the initial print dialogue and the ‘Layout’ dialogue. Clicking on the layout direction icons makes no difference.

I can find no evidence of the printer specifying landscape for printing and just about everything else I print is portrait, so it’s a mystery. Maybe I’ll try the link to the update and see if that cures it.

Best regards,

I notice on your second screenshot, the setting for Two-Sided is set to Long-Edge. Could that be forcing the printing into landscape somehow? The orientation of the page on that window definitely looks like landscape, although I'm not sure what's causing that. Unfortunately every printer seems to have a slightly different dialogue, so these things are pretty difficult to find from afar.

When I found that it would only print in landscape I have changed the dialogue each time to ’short edge’ - that screen shot was before changing the option.

The puzzling thing is that portrait printing has always worked in the past and I have not changed anything on the printer settings. There have, however, been many updates to Moon Invoice (they seem to come in about once a month or more, but it's probably not that often). What I do not know is when has change has occurred (i.e. after which of the many MI unpdates)) as I do not print very often.

Now that I have learned how to adjust the font size (it was also printing in too large a font initially) I can live with printing in landscape format. It’s just strange and a little annoying that the portrait option has disappeared.

Kind regards,
