Find and Replace extension Windows regional setting bug
The Find And Replace extension does not correctly adhere to regional settings on Windows.
First I need to give some background to the problem.
I live in South Africa where the official regional settings specify a decimal point (.) as thousands separator and a comma (,) as decimal separator. However, common usage and usage under the Windows regional settings for South Africa was always to use a comma as thousands separator and a decimal point as decimal separator. Then with the introduction of Windows 10 Microsoft changed the South African regional settings to use the official position rather than the commonly used one. Because of my long-time usage and many software applications that have a problem with this, I always select South African regional settings but then swap the thousands and decimal separators so that I have custom regional settings.
Most software, including Moneydance itself, correctly handles this, using the comma as the thousands separator and the decimal point as the decimal separator. However, the Find and Replace extension does not, meaning the entry of amounts differs within the extension from the rest of Moneydance. This always trips me up until I remember the separators must be reversed when using the extension and while it is simply an inconvenience, I would be most appreciative if the extension author could correct this.
I'm attaching screenshots from Windows regional settings, Moneydance and the extension that illustrate the problem.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
I’d like to confirm that a fix has been implemented in the updated version of the Find and Replace extension.
This is available for downloading from this link
Drag the downloaded file, which will have the extension .mxt onto the Moneydance program window. The 'Add Extension' window will appear, and you should select 'Install Extension'.
The extension will then be available under the Extensions menu.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Thank you. I have tested it, and the Find and Replace extension now allows
me to enter numbers with decimal points.
