Hi,

I have a peculiar issue when entering transactions in the register. The account is in USD, and the transaction is recorded in USD. However when i record the transaction, it automatically pops up a currency conversion rate and payment amount in a different currency (I don't know which). Is there any way to stop this from happening automatically?

   What currency is the category you are assigning the transaction to in?

   Omg.. I didn't realise that the categories have currency fields.

   So now I know what the problem is. The category is in a different currency.

   Next question then. I tried to change the currency of the category, but it
   is greyed out.

   How do I go about doing it?

   Moneydance will not allow you to change the currency since the software has no way of converting existing amounts to the value in the new currency.

   The Toolbox Extension will allow you to force the currency change but will naturally not do any conversions of existing amounts so only the currency designation is changed.

   Thank you. I guess I'll live with the previous transactions.

   Will use the extension to change the currency so that new transactions from
   now on are correct.

   Or create a new category in the new currency.
