Problem Upgrading
I currently have MoneyDance 2021.1 and am trying to upgrade to the latest version (2022.6). When I try to install the update, I get an error message: java.awt.AWTERROR: Assistive Technology Not Found..... I've attached the log file.
I do have the latest version of Java. Do I need to update to 2022.1 first?

No intermediate upgrade is necessary.
I would suggest downloading the software again to a folder on the local machine - not OneDrive and installing from there.
One other thing comes to mind, you do not have a Surface PRO X or anything like that do you? Just a regular machine with an Intel processor?

I have a Thinkpad with an Intel processor running Windows 11.
I downloaded the file again - directly to my hard drive. I paused all OneDrive syncing. I'm getting the same error.

just a user
Are you downloading the file directly from Moneydance or from Microsoft?

There is nothing unusual about a Thinkpad.
I'm somewhat baffled, Nothing else is coming to mind about what would cause this. Perhaps some else has some ideas.

just a user - also at a loss, but a thought - you mention you have the latest java installed... and that you are at Cornell. Universities and companies often install required setups that can affect things.
Moneydance comes with it's own version of java installed, it does not use an external java package. Is it possible that Java Access Bridge or some other technology is forcing a "different install type" and is erroring out? I'm just blowing dust in the wind, but it's a thought.

Do you have the Java access bridge installed?
A shot in the dark. Try this:
The best fix for this problem is to disable the Access Bridge technology in the Java configuration files. To do this, follow these steps:
Navigate to C:\Users<username>
Open the file called .accessibility.properties using a standard text editor (Notepad is fine)
Find the following lines in the config:
assistive_technologies=com.sun.java.accessibility.AccessBridge
screen_magnifier_present=true
Add a hashmark (#) in front of theses lines
Save your changes to the file, restart the User Client Software

Disabling the Access Bridge technology solved the problem. Thank you very much!
