The licence key is version specific. If you have just purchased the key you need to be running Moneydance 2022 downloaded from https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software
If you purchased the key for an earlier version of Moneydance some time ago it may not be valid for 2023. Try entering your key into the Upgrading? Box to see if it is valid for 2023 at https://infinitekind.com/purchase
If you upgrade you should get a 50% discount.

That particular page is not yet updated to Moneydance 2023 (as of 3/28/2023). And the new purchase page (https://infinitekind.com/purchase-2023) does not have any option for the discount on upgrading. Unless we are now expected to pay full freight to upgrade? I seem to recall that getting the purchase pages fully updated has taken some time in the past, so I'm trying to be patient.

@ Walter I've resent your license key to you via email. This key is valid for registering Moneydance 2022 and Moneydance 2023.

You are correct! As Moneydance 2023 is only available as a preview, you can't purchase an upgrade (yet) until this version is released as a stable.
Once Moneydance 2023 becomes available here, you can enter your current license key into the 'Upgrading?' box on this page to redeem a 50% discount. After purchasing, you'll be sent a new license key via email.
For the time being the preview is to be considered a 'patch' for the issues listed here. So, my question for you is:
are you experiencing any issues that require you to run this version?

Seems to be running fine; my only concern is whether it's being treated as a "free trial" (limited time/no. of entries) since the "Register Moneydance" in the Help menu does not recognize my current license key as valid. If it keeps running then I'm OK.

I've also downloaded and installed it. It says it is in demo mode and I can only add 0 more transactions in my free trial. I didn't understand that limitation. I could downgrade if need be, but I'm not sure I understand how. Do I just download the latest 2022.6 version and install it over the 2023 version? It seems that it was premature to offer the 2023 upgrade when it really isn't available.

As Moneydance 2023 is a new version as indicted by the change in major number, you should consider it a new release and not simply as a bug fix update, hence I would recommend only those people that are used to testing major new software versions download and install it and then right away from your day to day data.
I made a suggestion some time ago that bug fix releases and new major releases should have separate pages but this was not accepted.

I'm willing to test a beta version, but it says it is a trial and that I can't add any transactions, which makes it impossible test.

None of us testing have reported any difference in the way the Trial works, so I do not know why you would be seeing any difference. With a new data set you get the 100 transaction limit with a copy of a data set taken from an earlier version the number varies. I think there may be an internal counter in the data set, I see wildly varying numbers but many of my test sets have come through a large number of versions.

Quite disappointed, I get notified of upgrade available. Go to upgrade page put in licence key, states available for upgrade. Upgrade and it doesnt work as no licence key. Now have to roll back
