and we are only now getting back to you, my apologies.<br>
The earlier versions of Moneydance 2010 had a bit of an awkward
interface for transaction matching and importing, what version are
you running. If you go to Help -> About Moneydance it should
tell you what build of 2010 you are using. If you are using
anything much older than 748, I would recommend downloading the
latest preview build at this link: <a href=
"http://moneydance.com/trac/wiki/Moneydance2010Beta">http://moneydance.com/trac/wiki/Moneydance2010Beta</a>
.<br>
If, after trying the import and matching process again, you are
still having issues then please let me know and we will look into
this problem further.<br>

?
Thank you for getting back to me.<br />
I am still having trouble importing/confirming transactions.? The version I am using is Moneydance2010r2 (735).<br />
When I import transactions, it shows all transactions with the default category, and does not match the description/payee with a previously used description/payee like it used to.<br />
When I select the transaction, edit the description/payee and the category, then save the transaction, then attempt to get rid of the little blue circle by accepting (choosing my changes from the list) the change, then clicking accept - it changes the payee back to what it was in the first place, but leaves the changed category intact.? I must then select the transaction again, and change the payee for the second time.?<br />
In short, it does not actually "accept" my selected changes, but reverts to whatever it likes.<br />
This is extremely time consuming and frustrating.<br />
Example:<br />
I have a frequently used payee, "Power"?with the category "Utilities".<br />
This downloaded transaction now arrives as payee "Check" with the category "Household" (my default).<br />
I select the transaction, make the two changes, then save it.<br />
At this point it still has the blue dot (not yet accepted).<br />
I again select the said transaction, go to the "accept" line at the bottom, Select the change?"Power" and category "Utilities, then click accept.?<br />
It immediately changes the payee to "Check" without altering the "Utilities" category, and the blue dot is gone.<br />
I again select the transaction, again change the payee to "Power", and save again.<br />
The register is now as it should be.<br />
I have dozens of transactions per week.<br />
I fear I am the only one with this problem, so I am probably doing something wrong.? However, I still don't understand why all of my transactions are now downloading with the default category.<br />
I bank with USBank, if that makes a difference.<br />
?
Thanks for your time,<br />
Karen Grady</p>

You are not the only one to point out that when MD changed the
download and import transactions process to the "blue dot" system,
we lost some of the smoothness of import. Currently, I can
"Categorize" a transaction before "Accepting" it, but if I enter
anything in the Memo field, it gets wiped out upon acceptance. I
have to go back and edit the Memo field afterwards. I would be much
more satisfied if MD would simply offer to match All of the info
from the last transaction when it encounters the same Payee in a
download in an account. If I change one or more of the fields, then
MD should not drop that change during the accept function.</p></div>FatRaiderFantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12100442010-04-25T14:08:28Z2010-04-25T14:08:28Zimporting transactions and categories<div><p>Karen,<br>
I would heartily encourage you to try a build newer than 735, in
build 738 we did a major redesign of the importing process. Though
build 748 is a beta, I think it is exceptionally stable, and all
the areas where it may be a little buggy are very minor and you are
not likely to run into them in the course of normal use. Here is
the link for build 748, which is a free upgrade: <a href=
"http://moneydance.com/trac/wiki/Moneydance2010Beta">http://moneydance.com/trac/wiki/Moneydance2010Beta</a>
.<br>
Please let me know if your issue persists in the new import
process.<br>

Can you post a link to v2010 build 721?? Build 721 was working
great for me, but now I can 't find it anywhere.</p>
<p>Thanks!!</p></div>Davidtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12100442010-04-28T10:42:48Z2010-04-28T10:42:51Zimporting transactions and categories<div><p>Same problem here. I am using build 748, which does not solve
the issue. Any help would be appreciated.</p></div>Robintag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12100442010-04-28T11:26:19Z2010-04-28T11:26:23Zimporting transactions and categories<div><p>Sorry, I meant build 723. I was able to find a backup copy of
the build 723 I had, but it was the Linux version (I use both Linux
and Windows). I was able to get it to work on window (thank you
that its written in java) by installing build 748 and then
replacing all the .jar files with the file from build 723. Now
everything is back to normal and working great. I guess I'm going
to stay on this build until these issues have been corrected in the
future.</p></div>Davidtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12100442010-04-29T15:59:52Z2010-04-29T15:59:52Zimporting transactions and categories<div><p>I really don't recommend going back to 723. There have been many
significant bug fixes since that release.</p>
<p>I am certain the the changes to the memo, description and
category field are not overwritten when accepting the transaction
in 748. I just tried it and cannot reproduce the problem you are
describing. I downloaded my transactions, edited the memo field on
one of the unconfirmed transactions, went to the accept dialogue
and selected the categorize option presented and clicked accept.
The memo field did not change back.</p>
<p>I then tried to do what Karen describes above. changing all the
fields on an unconfirmed transaction, then selecting the ORIGINAL
option on the accept dialogue and clicking the accept button. None
of the changes I made were undone. If you are doing this are you
sure you are selecting the ORIGINAL option and not a CATEGORIZE or
MERGE option?</p>
<p>Can you describe the steps you are taking such that i can
reproduce this problem in 748.</p>

experience any of the bugs that the release notes have for build
748.</p>
<p>Here's the issue I have with 735 and 748:</p>
<p>I'll enter a line item as such:</p>
<p>04/27/2010 Starbucks Personal:Dining 4.08</p>
<p>Then I'll download the transaction from my bank and import it
into moneydance. The line item will then look like:</p>
<p>04/27/2010 VISA STARBUCKS USA 00... Personal:Dining 4.08</p>
<p>I have to go and change it back once I accept the
transaction:</p>
<p>04/27/2010 Starbucks Personal:Dining 4.08</p>
<p>With version 723, I don't have to go back and change it.<br></p></div>Davidtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12100442010-04-29T17:21:29Z2010-04-29T17:21:29Zimporting transactions and categories<div><p>Do you have the Automatically merge downloaded transactions

I have downloaded the update. When I downloaded the update, the 'new program' looked different and the problem was solved. I then closed the program. When I reopened the program, It was back on build 735 (rather than the 750 on the new build). I opened the zip file and the new program again, and it worked fine. Closed the program, and when it opened it was back on build 735. I did a cold boot and still the same---opened build 735, but if go to download folder, open the zip, and open the program, it works. Where am am I going wrong?<br />

still points to the old version. Make sure whatever shortcut you are using<br />
to open moneydance points to your newly installed download, and not your old<br />
copy.</p>
