Very slow startup
Moneydance takes about 15 seconds from launching it, to being asked for a password. This situation has persisted for several releases. I only have the Find and Replace & Toolbox extensions installed. The problem precedes installation of the latter.

After startup, grab help / console. Upload that here.
Also launch toolbox. Click analyse dataset and objects. Upload that here too?

Attached as requested. Some file locations have been edited (this is a public forum.) Note that I have the MoneyForesight thing turned off; that was to see if it made any difference (I don't use it) - it made no difference at all.

Ok. tiny dataset. No obvious issues. Nothing seems to be holding up startup. I don’t think you can do much to speed this up.

I see that MD creates two files in the TEMP directory when it starts up. These appear to be something to do with ttfautohint. One of them is a dll, which MD does not delete when it exits. The other has no extension, but an unusual name like "+~JF8212664371935829110", and is deleted on exit. It looks like something is actually building these files, and that's what is taking the time.

Hi Graham,
Delays in opening or closing/backing up your data file are usually due to either your data file or the backup location from the preferences being located in a shared folder
Could you try changing your backup location in the Moneydance preferences to the default location?
You can do this by opening the Moneydance 'Preferences', selecting the Backup tab and un-checking the box for the backup location.

All the files are on an internal SSD (not eMMC.) I have tried removing my two extensions. Removing Find and Replace makes no discernible difference. However, removing Toolbox slashes the startup time to less than half. Reinstalling them to confirm, adding Find and Replace makes no difference and adding Toolbox slows it right down again. I will leave Toolbox uninstalled until (and unless) I find I actually need it.

According to your own logs, toolbox might be taking 4 seconds for MD to load the file itself and then 0.7 seconds to execute.
