New Style Budget delay
I currently use the Old Style Budget because of the many issues with the New Style calendar style. But I now want to use the New Style Budget to track my tax withholding and RMD withdrawals where you can see the cumulative amounts. But there is a big problem with the New Style budget that is well know by support but has not been addressed per date. The problem involves the size of the database and the delays involved when using the New Style budget. I have 14 yrs of transaction history and just clicking on a New Style budget can take over 30 seconds to open while MD is frozen. Also, once you are in the New Style feature, everything you click on takes 10 or 15 seconds to respond. Even with only a couple of years of transaction, you can see the delay. That makes the New Style budget unusable for me. Can someone take a look at the issue and see if a fix can be made? Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
If you haven't already, you could try decreasing your data set size.
In order to decrease your data set size, you could navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox (version 1063).
Launch the Toolbox and select Updated mode (at the top).
Click on MENU: Advance Options and choose: Shrink Dataset size. Set it to 1 day.
You should then carefully follow the on-screen instruction, allowing the disclaimer and restarting Moneydance once the process is complete.
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

Thanks Maddy, I was hoping I wouldn't have to trim the database but I'll give it a go. It would also help if the setting to only view the budgeted categories would save to the next time you open the budget to prevent it from displaying all categories every time you open the feature. Adding to the delay issue really compounds that issue.
Thanks,
