Today Yahoo released a new web page format. This has completely broken Quote Loader. I will try and get it back but it is looking like it might not come back and if it does it will be a lot slower. I will post on the Investment forum with any news.

Not a big problem for me - I just wanted to make sure that prob. wasn't on my end. Thanks for the update.

Hi
As Stated by Mike Yahoo has changed things.
In the meantime change the Source to FT.
Any Securities that return an error with FT as the source then post your base currency, the Ticker, full Security Name and last price you have and its traded currency or just post a screen shot of the Quote Loader windows after you click GET PRICES.
Hope this helps.

I was using the Quotes and Exchange Rates extension to update prices but that quit working also. So, I am trying Quote Loader with FT as the source. That works great in getting the prices but how do I save the prices to my MoneyDance accounts? The Quote Loader extension does have a box under parameters to update Money Dance prices but that appears not to do anything.

I can't help. I tried the FT suggestion - but only got a third of my quotes - don't know why some loaded and others didn't. The few quotes that FT loaded updated those securities. At this point, I hope the Quote Loader author can fix the problem at the source.

Ah, I may have figured it out. Just have to push more buttons.
10 Posted by lexrom on 15 Apr, 2024 06:51 PM
I had some stock prices that came up as errors with FT. By changing the stock exchange I was able to fix all the errors. Using ASE fixed most.

I have 17 stocks. They all load OK except for two. I get no price for Alphabet Class C ticker GOOG source FT. Last price is 159.19 from last Friday 4/12. I also get no update for Apple ticker AAPL source FT. Last price is 176.55 from last Friday.

Hi bobjkelly
Take a look at the Screen Shot. Don’t forget to set a Exh Mod for GOOG

The alternative was to use "FT". This seems to work for me only for
Stocks and ETF's (US) based so the currency is correct. However, it does
not provide the end of day prices for mutual funds (I am using Vanguard,
mostly). It is still 4/12/24. Is there a temp solution for this?

Temp solution is to post what isn't downloading, and derekkent23 (with his intimate knowledge of how QL works) usually figures out the correct values to use to get a download.
Certainly there are some that just aren't in FT, but Derek has volunteered even to help out anyone.
That said, at the moment, it's 103am for Derek, but I'm sure he'll respond after wake up and a cup of coffee or something.

And I think most know if we dont have the customer support bit at the top of our names, we are just volunteers trying to help out.

Applied Materials (AMAT) price is incorrect from FT source

What about Mutual Funds?
Never mind, works with FT but without EXC MOD

Hi AM
For the source FT, Ticker AMAT, try adding a Exch Mod as screen shot.
Hope this helps

Hi sprimost
With most mutual fund there is a delay in calculating the value of the fund from its underling securities. So run Quote Loader the next morning, most will then return a new price. A small number of funds can take longer to update.

I have one ETF (ticker: STIP) which would not load under FT; using ASE or NASDAQ GLO as the exchange didn't help.
FWIW here are relevant links to it:

Hi Hot Karl
See screen shot. For iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF Yahoo ticker STIP I have typed in a new ticker STIP:PCQ:USD into the Alt Ticker field when FT is selected as the source.
Hope this helps

Thank you derekkent23
It's working for mutual funds. I can't figure out how it does it! If I
check at 7pm (EST), if does not update but a few when I do it manually.
I look in the morning 9am EST, and there it is! I do have it set to
update at 7pm every day at 1900 (local time?)
Curious.

Hi sprimost
I can only repeat with most mutual fund there is a delay after the markets closes in calculating the value of the fund from its underling securities. So run Quote Loader the next morning, most will then return yesterdays closing price. A small number of funds can take longer to update.
Have Fun, Stay Safe.
26 Posted by Hot Karl on 17 Apr, 2024 09:20 PM
Thank you @derekkent23, that works. I've noticed two more funds which aren't operating correctly. Manipulating the exchange didn't work. Do you mind having a look?
Separately, I've noticed that the results of "get prices" are not being saved once I close the quote loader window (the Last Price value reverts to April 13). I already upgraded to Moneydance 2024 (build 5117) and it's possibly related to that? Quote Loader is still v3204.

Hi Hot Karl
Once you get a price after clicking GET PRICES are you clicking SELECT ALL LINES followed by SAVE SELECTED LINES?
Hope this helps.
29 Posted by Hot Karl on 18 Apr, 2024 12:27 AM
@derekkent23 - thank you, all issues are resolved.
I was not; thank you this solves the problem.
Yes this worked. I think the trouble is because I was rerunning GET PRICES without saving first.

Hi Hot Karl
If you have not already it may be worth taking a look at the following.
For information on the features of this extension and how to use see post 67 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/7595-quo...
Download the PDF’s attached to post 67 and have a read.
To get an overview take a look at the YouTube videos by using the links on page 1 and 2 of the PDF.
The Quick Start Video is intended to give a quick overview so the user can see if Quite loader looks like it could work for them. The Short Video expands the user’s knowledge giving more detail. The Full Video goes even further but may be to wordy for some.
The PDF reinforces what’s leaned in the videos, provides step by step instructions, a must read and provide answers on how to handle less obvious issues some users may come across.
Hope this helps.
