Licence Key

Hello

Before I upgraded to 2024 I entered my licence key on your website and it said the upgrade was a free upgrade. I upgraded.

When I opened MD it was fine, but today I am getting a prompt saying I need to enter my licence key. When I enter the key it says it is not valid.

Please advise.

   I'm a fellow user.

   There was a bug in the version checking with the initial Moneydance 2024.0 build which has since been corrected.

   Moneydance is a free upgrade for those that purchased Moneydance 2023, as per usual you get a free upgrade to the next major release from what you purchased.

   Just to update, If you do not have a 2023 license you can either go back to the version your license is valid for or purchase a discounted upgrade.

   Unfortunately these glitches happen at times.

   The 2024 version keeps crashing and the report dialogue box does not display properly. Have you seen these issues.

   A bit reluctant to upgrade as currently app is unusable.

   I have just checked and my licence was for v2022, but I was using v2023 as it was a free upgrade.

   To go back, do I have to go back to the 2022 version, or can I get the 2023 version?

   Define crashing?
   Anything in help/console?

   v2024
   Crash means "spinning icon". Can only reset by using Force Quit.
   I have reverted to 2023 version. Console seems to only have data on current installed version.

   Do yo have apple stocks, with splits?
   If so, are these set up to use average cost?
   If so, were you viewing either Custom Balances (with cost basis), or the Investment Account, or a cost basis report when it hangs?

   The console (error) log resets every time you start Moneydance, it is not preserved.

   FYI - there is now an Alpha available (that fixes this endless loop issue with Apple / split stocks). WARNING. This is an Alpha - so pre-preview… BACKUP first and only use on test data.. If you don't want to test, then wait for the stable code version.....

    Hello.

    The hang I was getting occurred when you tried to access Help>Show Documents Folder.

    I have just upgraded to 2024 version. (Not the Alpha) and this hang seems to have stopped.

    I do not have Apple stocks with splits.
