We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

I think you misunderstand.

The information is already on your site.

1) It is just in a bad location.
2) Plus, the most necessary information you have is hidden and from an old version.

The TLDR up at the top of that post explains it.

Bruce

813brucetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/484566692020-08-12T20:23:48Z2020-08-12T20:23:48ZPut a page like this one from 2015 at hte very top of the 2019 Getting Started page

You know what, Maddy? I was wrong. I apologize. My software is still not set up regardless of how useful the older versions of instructions are.

Can you help set this thing up for 3 savings, 3 checking, and 1 money market accounts, as well as a retirement account and various web accessible bills?

And as I type this, it occurs to me that this software might not be able to keep track of my bills.

Can it?

813brucetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/484566692020-08-13T09:56:05Z2020-08-13T09:56:05ZPut a page like this one from 2015 at hte very top of the 2019 Getting Started page

Hi Bruce,

We are here to offer you support, as much as we can.

So, first of all, please can you confirm which version and build of Moneydance are you using?
To check, open Moneydance and select Help --> About Moneydance (or Moneydance --> About Moneydance on a Mac) where the version and build number will be displayed.

Can you let me know which operating system you're running on your computer/s?

Do you download transactions from the bank, or do you input all transactions manually?

If you download from the bank, do/would you use Direct Connect automatic downloads, or do you download files from the banks website? If you download from the banks site, which file format do/would you use?

Generally, you can create a new file by selecting "Create New Account Set" as outlined here.

Secondly, the steps for creating accounts are outlined here.

For 'Credit Card Accounts' please refer to this article

This article should provide a comprehensive list of the Types of Accounts you could have in Moneydance.

To Create an Investment Account, please see here

Once, you have created your accounts, you need to verify which of your banks support direct Connect.

Moneydance supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect, and you can view a list of** financial institutions** that support this feature here.

If your bank is listed, you can set this up within Moneydance by navigating to Online --> Set Up Online Banking. Then select 'New Connection' and choose your financial institution from the list.
Most banks require that you contact them to enable Direct Connect before you can download your data from within Moneydance. When you do this, you'll be given the login credentials you need to connect. Generally, these login details differ from those used for ATM or online banking. You can find the steps for setting this up outlined in this article.

If your bank does not support Direct Connect, you are still able to easily import your data into the program. The best way to get your files into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site.
You can download into QFX, OFX, OFC or QIF files (aka Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.
You can also open your banks website directly from Moneydance by selecting Online --> Open Account Website, which makes the download process easier.

Finally, for setting up Online Bill Payment, please follow the steps outlined on this page.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
