Register
Follows Recorded Transactions, which, from what I understand, is
supposed to scroll the register to the bottom after a new
transaction is entered. The problem I encounter is that whenever I
switch to the Register View the scroll bar position is usually
random and NOT at the bottom of the register. Solution: PageDown.
2) Turn the sound off. It's been my experience that no matter what
sound you use, after Recording 15 or so entries your pretty much
sick of hearing it. 3) Autofill using one keystroke is probably
doable. I've seen it implemented on CNBC.com and other financial
sites for stock quotes. Kevin N.</p></div>-Kevin N.tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/2822822009-08-03T14:38:51Z2009-08-03T14:38:51Zauto scroll to the end when entering a new transaction<div><p>Hi Timothy</p>
<p>It is also my experience that the "Register Follows Recorded
Transactions" does not seem to be functioning as I would expect.
I'll check in with the developer about this.</p>
<p>While Moneydane does not let you change the sound that is played
you can turn it off completely by going to File->Preferences and
unchecking the box that says "Beep when transactions change"</p>
<p>With regards to auto fill are you refering to the the category
selection control when entering a transaction. It is my experience
that one keystroke is sufficient to activate the auto fill function
here. Is this not the case with you? What version of Moneydance are
you using?</p>
<p>Sincerely</p>

<p>Further investigation of the behaviour of the register when you
enter transactions leeds me to believe that it is functioning
correctly.</p>
<p>My understanding is that the register will automatically scroll
to display the transaction that you have just entered. This is not
necessaryly the transaction at the end of the register as the
transactions are sorted by date. If I enter a transaction that is
newer than all other transaction in the register it is my
experience that the register will consistently scroll to the
end.</p>
