Add a Viewable Balance for the Period Filter that is Active
In a register window, only the total "to date" register balances are viewable - no matter what period filter is selected. When one selects a specific period, one would usually find the total balance of the period (difference between total after last transaction and the first transaction) most useful.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

When in a register with filters, try this. Select all (CMD-A on a Mac) then the balance will change to the selected txns value (this is clickable) or right click and toolbox and total selected txns. I think this will give you what you are after (on MD2024)

Thanks Stuart. That works - in the stable build, the open in new window is broken in 5134. Not very intuitive, but I guess it is documented somewhere and I failed to “read the manual” on this one.

Fixed in Alpha 5136.... still working toward a new stable release.
