Hi George,
To import from Quicken Essentials for Mac, select this option when opening the program for the first time by clicking on “Migrate from Quicken Essentials”. You can also import your data from Quicken Essentials by opening Moneydance, open the File menu, select the Import option, and navigate to your QE file. This will import your Quicken Essentials into a new Moneydance data file.
Please let me know of any issues you encounter when following these steps.

Thanks for your help. You do know, I assume, yet hat the first time you open money dance that there are no drop downs in the bar that would allow you to do what you describe.

Hi George,
What options are available to you when you open Moneydance?
If possible, could you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Thanks for your help, but I don't care for the MD program and do not want to purchase it. I downloaded a free trial but am not sure what's opens at the end of the month. Can you help?

I don't know what you mean by "not sure what's opens at the end of the month." could you be more specific?

Sorry, perhaps out of context. I mean: does my 30-day trial just end, or do I automatically get enrolled in a purchase agreement. if so, I don't care to do.
Thanks.

Hello,
I'm not sure where you heard about a 30 day trial. The demo version is fully functional, and the only limitation is that you can only manually enter 100 transactions before having to purchase a license key. There is no time limit. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test things like importing from other programs and connections with your bank. If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions.
